The Inauguration was held at the Jaic Hilton on 30 November at which Prof Geoff Layer, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton, UK was the Chief Guest.

This year the Symposium was open to international participation and it was heartening to note that several research papers were submitted by international academics. Research presentations flowed in abundant measure from both local and international academics, students, industrialists and professionals. Considering the large number of research submissions, it became necessary to conduct three parallel sessions of the symposium in three separate halls at the Mount Campus from 10 am to 4.30 pm.
